War is a fast track to huge amounts of money for bankers and it provides 2nd lieutenants with an opportunity to become generals. Turn just these two things around and there would be peace. Take the profit out of war and put it into peace and the bankers would have a person trying to start a war hung. If during war, all rank was frozen, war wouldn't even be on a career officer's list.

@Malarkey31 I have no clue what Petreaus is,I admit it. I just hate arguments,doesn't solve anything. Also,I'd like to add there are people 1,000 times worse than me in the U.S military,who support Petreaus,and would die for him,and think that they should kill out Afghanistan for peace,and I haven't got a clue why they were still there,or even put the Taliban in power to begin with. I ain't actin tough,I just been too many times to this page.

@Malarkey31 And how can you say our soldiers are "shackled" as I look at my left and right hands I see no shackles. I share the same freedoms that a normal citizen has, only I'm held to a higher standard than yourself. If I behaved like you, spouting garbage uncontrollably with a bad case of diarhea of the mouth and utter disrespect for my commander I would be punished and likely demoted. It's a shame we aren't in Israel where military service is mandatory. It might teach you some respect.

@Malarkey31 You didn't have to tell me you weren't in the military, I hinted on it by your lack of respect for people in uniform. I respect your right to speak your mind, in fact that's what our soldiers have been fighting for and dieing for since we announced our independance. You can't however slander him by saying he's an empty suit. He is a military genious. He writes the battle strategy and without him we would have invaded Iraq and we would have left there with our heads low.

Just because someone wears our country's uniform doesn't mean they're instantly a hero. Petraus is vermin in our military.

Just put me in his position and you'll see how well I top him and I've never been in the miltary ;) The guy is an empty suit.

I have more respect for my local barber than I do him. As a matter a fact -- we should give petraus a job as an army barber,so at least he'll actually be doing something other than getting our troops killed with out of wack ROE regualtions that no one on the planet can follow.
