This is a chemical reaction demonstrated by AP Chemistry students at Churubusco High School; specifically Michael Hockerman! It is a reaction between glucose, sodium hyrdoxide, and an indicator to produce a solution which spontaniously turns a color, then can be shaken to return to it's original color. Neat-o!
The left flask does not complete the reaction during the time we were filming. After about 10 minutes, it turned red, then when shaken, would turn back to yellow/green. Slightly less neat-o!
