Protests against 'Hanoi' Jane Fonda

A US WW2 veteran, Gaetano Russo, from Waterbury, CN, organises a protest against "Hanoi' Jane Fonda filming in his home town.
Meanwhile Jane is filming on the Old Gringo, possibly not too aware of the storm awaiting her although she states here how unhappy she is now that her comments caused so much upset.


My channel is one of the most prolific from Poland. With almost one film per day, one may be forgiven for thinking I do nothing else but I do have a day job as well. I have produced around 1,600 original films, most in English but also in Polish, French, Italian, Spanish and the occasional hint of German and Hebrew. Most people may think packaging pretty boring but it possibly effects your life more than you really imagine!

Central and Eastern European Packaging examines the packaging industry throughout this region, but in particular in the largest regional economies which are Russia, Germany, Poland, Czech Republic, Ukraine and Austria. That is not to say that the other countries are forgotten, they are not, but obviously there is less going on. However the fact that there are so many travel related films here is not from holidays but from business trips attending trade fairs around the region. Every packaging trade fair is a new excuse to make another film!

Treason is a serious charge. If there were any evidence of treason it would have been brought to trial long ago.

@akatimuf Maybe it is because of difficulties defining a proving treason. I would have thought that that included passing information on which she did not do, on the other hand she did do propaganda for the enemy during wartime - as did Lord Haw Haw for example and he was hanged for it. Perhaps it is unfair to compare the US in the 1960s with the UK after WW2.

@ebonics4everyone Well, I'm friends with a lot of Vietnam vets. But they're smart. To a man, they all support and love Jane Fonda.

Some people are dumb. They don't know the facts and they're tied to a mythical past. History will show that the criminals were the ones who killed kids in Vietnamese villages, not the woman who tried to stop this madness.

I called this Russo guy on the phone shortly after this happened. He made it clear to me that he "disliked dumb broads talkin' about shit they don't have no business in!"and that was his biggest problem with Jane Fonda.

@akatimuf no she did not, she wanted the north viatnamese to kill our soldiers, she gave comfort to the enemy, she spoke against our soldiers and called them liars and hypocrites after they said they had been tortured, i do agree many civilians were killed by americans, there is no excuse or forgiveness for that, but that does not change the fact that Jane is a traitoe, she did not want to get our soldiers out of vietnam she wanted them to die

I don't personally know any of the North Vietnamese civilian victims but I'd sure like to hear those airmen apologize. There were a lot of people working at Auschwitz and Treblinka who were sorry they followed orders but wound up swinging from scaffolds anyway. Those airmen killed a lot of civilians. If I killed that many civilians I'd be in prison or dead. They should have been grateful to Jane for trying to get them out.  Instead they spit on her.

@vaiueo She may not have killed anyone but she consorted with the enemy in a time of war. I can understand why the veterans organised this protest - more than twenty years ago.
