  • Any discussion of this poem should hinge on whether it is fact or fiction. As it has been established beyond reasonable doubt that these sonnets are addressed to the Earl of Southampton, how did a man in his 20's arrive at the feeling he was in the twilight of his life? Why would he address poems to someone only 9 years his junior in such a fashion? Indeed, it defies logic. The poem's intent, and its authenticity as being reality based, is only solved from the oxfordian position.

  • wow, this was amazing, you guys really opened my eyes to some of the possibilities in this poem, im doing a presentation on form, and it took me a while to come to an understanding of its meaning, you guy nailed it.
