Candy and Chuck Ritzen, who have established the Haitian and Dominican Assistance Corp. to give free medical and dental care to the poor of Haiti and the Dominican Republic, have recently been the target of extortion and death threats by a local politician in the Dominican Republic's north coast city of Sosua.

They have started a zip line park and Monkey interactive grotto, Monkey Jungle, in a 200 acre farm in the hills and farms of Sosua, way out in the country. The purpose of these attractions is to use the profits to help pay for the free clinics.

The extortion and death threats threaten to cut off much needed aid to the poor of the area.
