@freakingoutcat That's not a soprano clarinet, it's soprano saxophone... either way, volume is mainly from air support and correct reed strength anyway.

I have two questions..i play the regular clarinet...have been for about 1-2 months now. i'd much rather play flute, but hey.....it's cool either way. 1. Is the sorprano clarinet supposed to be that loud? 2. Are you guys in band class? We have one at my school. A lot of funny things happen....and you can meet a lot of cool people while enjoying band.

he had to play "pp" which means soft and quiet. so no; not much louder :P
