A cement pad was poured, elevated to minimize bending over to load. The door is large, but low. There is also a standing area in what will become the front of the pad. We dug the trench, 25', to lay the heating pipe to connect the furnace to the inside boiler. It is only 12-14" deep, the recommended shallow depth was due to the extremely insulated housing around the two inner flexible pipes. We were told if it were laying on top of snow covered ground that it would not even melt the snow, even sending 180 degree water through! The curve of the trench was to accomodate the limited flexibility of the pipe.
