continuing...I was prepared at all times to make a hasty escape if I had to, and there were other safety features involved that I cannot explain here. I am a BIG proponent of safety and I make a point to pay above-average attention to "everyday" stuff too like eye/ear/respiratory protection, fire safety, and jack stands

Thank you. I would like to make clear that safety is an extremely important concern for me. While this may appear to be an unsafe operation, I assure you that I was completely aware of of any potential problems. The device was tested before I went under the car, and any concerns (and there were a few) were taken care of before the final lift. Also, this was always designed to be a "one time only" thing, and it was. The car was actually balanced fairly well most of the time as well.

Nice design and it works great, heck, I'm still trying to design a rotisserie for my Mustang, and I had the project for almost 18 years :(

Yeah I thought of that too but took the chance. All of the sheet metal work is done now and there were no probs. Thanks for writing.

Cool man thanx 4 putting in the time to read it. I will add you to the mailing list. The car is "stuck" at the body shop now with very slow progress so it might be a while before you see an update. The last guitar I bought was an Epiphone 12st that I love. See ya !!
