So you two HAVE bumped into each other lol

I've only gotten a little over 500 balls and have kept the first one I ever got (a HR in 1987), the first BP ball, the first one caught on the fly and a few others besides those. Ones that meant something to me. I've given away hundreds. All the fun is in catching them... but then what? You have something else you have to find room for. I catch a ball and the first thing I do is look for some deserving kid to give it to.

@mattrules924 Hample doesn't give many to kids, but he gives some. Fan Since '53 catches way more than Hample and gives most of them to kids, same as me.

met hample at fenway, hes a really good guy

@TheJer1963 He's not living off his mom and dad's dime jerk ass. He makes a living off this stuff and makes good money out of it by doing interviews and stuff.

@MrHamsall he only gives balls the kids who have a GLOVE and who didn't get a ball yet. also, he doesn't want to give away EVERY ball he gets. you wouldn't want to give away a ball that you just got at a mlb game! also, he has a charity called pitch in for baseballs. a ton of people make a pledge for every ball he snags during a season!
I guarantee you Zack Hample has more baseballs (right now he has 5,283 and counting) then you and any other person has every caught in the left feild and right feild pavilion.

@baseballislife89 LOL, only because he begs for balls like a 6-year old and steals balls from teams with devices. I've definitely caught more batted balls on the fly than he has, which is all any good ballhawk cares about, and I do it while filming it, which makes it a hell of a lot harder.

So did he cry and sick his girlfriend on you? Thought this guy was kinda cool till I heard the other side of the story. He can be a real jerk. Time to grow up and get off your mom and dads dime.

@TheJer1963 Don't know much about him personally, but I think he's bad for the game. His example teaches kids to not have a favorite team, to wear different caps/shirts just to beg for baseballs, and begging for balls distracts from the balls being hit, which can kill kids (and anyone).
