UPDATE--SUSPECT CAPTURED.
A suspect is currently being sought in the robbery of a bank teller that occurred on Saturday. At approximately 11:17 a.m. patrol officers responded to the Bank of America located at 4710 Babcock Street NE. The bank teller advised that a white male described as approximately 5'7" tall, thin build, likely in his mid-twenties wearing a red shirt, a black ball cap with black lettering and white outline and wearing dark colored, baggy pants, possibly denim, entered the bank carrying a large shoulder bag. He passed the clerk a note telling her he had a gun and to put money in the bag. A gun was not actually seen by the victim or any of the witnesses. The clerk complied and the suspect fled the scene in a maroon/red Pontiac Firebird driven by another male. The vehicle exited the plaza heading westbound on Palm Bay Road. Detectives are currently reviewing images from the bank security camera, interviewing the victim and witnesses and attempting to develop leads as to the identity of the suspect.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Central Florida CRIMELINE at 1-800-423-TIPS. Callers can remain anonymous and can be eligible for cash rewards of up to $1,000.
