just another propaganda ad from an industry that doesn't believe it should pay its fair share in taxes and at the same time receives subsidies from the government, which is corporate welfare. Say no to these industries picking your pocket. They make plenty of profit. There is no reason to raise rates just so they can pay their taxes. The XL pipeline will benefit them but not us. Lying sacks of shit is all they are. We don't buy your bullshit, so shut up Energy Industry.

I'm more than happy to pay for the true cost (material, labor, environmental impact, etc) for the products and services that I use, and the proposed taxes are simply a way of making the price of fossil fuels reflect that. It's just responsible.

Fossil fuel industries didn't know the true cost of their actions when they started, but they do now, and refusing to adapt and take responsibility isn't just disappointing, it's ugly.

We all depend on engery produced by these companies so they already have us by the balls. It would be nice if our government held them accountable for the pollution they produce and/or force them to give back to our economy through taxes for taking resources under OUR land. If they energy companies want to help our economy PAY UP. Tax the shit out of them and help get people off the streets and help people feed their children.

They lease and give the drilling rights to corporations for fractions of a penny on the dollar. They subsidize them with billion of dollars each year and of course the selected officials get kick backs in the form of campaign contributions. My energy bootlegger project that will help rural Americans become energy independent is unfunded and ignored. It is too bad forest fires can not select only oil executive homes to burn down.

I hope that there will be taxes that make the energy companies accountable for the pollution they create, and their products create.

If this tax will destroy the economy, why is it that oil industries are receiving record profits?

The US populace is learning the truth about fossil fuels and oil/gas industries.

We understand that the oil industry is the world's most profitable and it is also the leading cause of environmental change. Increased taxation could help fund mitigation of climate change.
