This is the Alaska Railroad Passenger train that goes between Anchorage and Fairbanks. This was shot at Talkeetna, the base camp for all who hike Mt. McKinley. Then they come back and shoot the bull at the world famous Fairview Inn

  • O my gawd! Is that an F40 Cabbage in Amtrak paint that I am seeing at 1:30? This is an amazing shot!

  • I've never seen an amtrak loco on any ARR train After living there for 11 yrs.

  • What was the Amtrak engine for?

  • Yup, I believe we have two of those now, both painted in new ARR colors. Used for Passenger service. Saw one the other day leading a passneger train down to Seward from Anchorage.

  • WOW I didn't know that Alaska has some old Amtrak F40PH's!
