the show aired from 1982-1993. When I was young I used to watch the reruns just after the show was canceled .

This song makes my mom cry. She is reminded of my dad(who is now deceased) and the people she grew up across the street from(who are also deceased). They both loved the show, she can't sit through the theme song without breaking into tears...
