Take control! This is the instrument of your liberation.

He said during campaign for election, everyone will have the same equal health care as members of congress.

Uh-oh. Somebody standing up for small businesses... doesn't she know? Small businesses are not America. Only big businesses are.
Also, if we can give $200 billion to Afghanistan war effort (which I don't disagree with), why is small business lending only getting $30 billion?

First, let me agree with you, sort of. Canadian public education must be better than the US education system in most states.
Most states are controlled by the National Education Assoc. or the Teachers Union. The later only cares for the best salary and benefits they can acquire at the peril of the children.
For health care, the Republicans say that 5 million have absolutely no recourse and Dems. say it is 15 million- I split the difference at 10 mil.
-
I'm aware of medicaid, and it is certainly better than nothing. However, I suspect that the 5-10 mill is an underestimate of people who cannot afford healthcare. I don't imagine that it includes un-covered people who have been fortunate enough not to fall ill, but would be bankrupted if they did. Also I don't think it includes those who can just scrape together the money they need ffor treatment, but sacrifice their children's education, etc.

Concerning people that really can't afford health insurance, the very poor, receive medicaid (free health care.
Millions of the uninsured are people who have the money to purchase a plan but choose not too. Many are younger and healthy and figure they don't need it.
Of the 300 million Americans, between 5 and 10 million fall through the cracks and need health care reform. The other 290 million have health care or the ability to have health care.

You can't compare anything when the people running are lying from the start. :(

There are problems with waiting times, although one of the few real successes of our current Labour government has been to invest in the NHS and much reduce them. However, waiting times are a reason why I contribute to a plan.
The NHS is a backstop for those who can't afford private healthcare. It astounds me that the richest country in the world doesn't have something equivalent.
-
Maybe people have to wait...but cancer does not wait. Other serious illnesses do not wait either. I just want to know how he plans to pay for this. My daughter has Medicaid, but many doctors won't take her...you know why..They don't get paid enough to take her as a patient. The president should practice being president and stop being a big brother. I don't need him telling me what is best for me. If he wants to save money, he should bring down this high deficit that he is causing.

The NHS may have worked well for you and I am glad it did. I have 2 friends in England and both say they have had long waits for certain procedures. They did say, once they got to see a specialist, the treatment was good.
Wall Street runs our Healthcare. We pay for their growth and million dollar bonuses every year. The opposition sure as hell isn't fighting Obama because they're worried about some Government bureaucrat coming between a patient and their Doctor. These people are worse than the Mafia. The greed just Oozes outta everything they touch.

Bush didn't have the largest financial crisis in a century to deal with. Bush increased the deficit during an economic boom, dragged the country into an illegal war, and gave huge tax cuts to the wealthiest 5% so the middle class would have to pay for that war. Bush caused this mess and Obama is digging us out. even with you kicking and screaming on his back the whole way.
