@martinspeterbilt I look at the mountains and I see God everywhere. In every holler and every stream, every root and every tree. I look at a mountain top removal and I see death and destruction.
I am not against all types of mining. I know where my electricity comes from. In fact, I lived without it for 5 years because of where it comes from.
What I wish for you and for every miner is an alternative. A safe job that provides for you and your family, and one that you can still be proud of. Peace
@TheCindy1111 the fact of the matter is that, not all coal seams can be mined. Without coal almost 50% of our country has no power. Coal is the single biggest contributor to energy in the world. Unfortunately, regardless of the way some people view it as destruction and others view it as development, we can't do without it. Focus your energy and providing a better solution that will actually source the country's power now, then we'll lay down our hard hats and mining lights and move on.
@TheCindy1111 i'm so sorry to hear about your mother, honestly. I will totally change my tone, but i do want to remind you that you "destroy" the earth everyday. If that's the way you look at it. I don't look at it that way. I look at it as thanking God he made people smart enough to discover and create ways/products or whatever to help us make our lives on earth better. The bible already says "heaven and earth shall pass away" Regardless of what we do, this earth will someday be gone.
@martinspeterbilt You know me so well! Actually, sir, I've never owned a diamond in my life. Oh wait. I'll take that back. I just inherited my dead mother's wedding ring.
And I think gold is ugly. Sorry to disappoint you and your female assumptions. No sir, not only do I not support the utter destruction of our earth for jobs and corporate billions, but I also do not support the death and slavery that is required to produce "pretty things".
@TheCindy1111 ...oh yeah, and if your so concerned about destroying the earth for coal...you shouldn't wear another diamond in you life. Read up on the BLOOD DIAMONDS that take place in Africa. Not only are they mining the diamonds underground....THEY'RE KILLING PEOPLE EVERDAY FOR THEM!! people amaze me at how they can be against one thing (for a stupid reason i might add) and then not care about other issues that are the same nature but WORSE. God bless you and hope you take your rings off
@TheCindy1111 ...hmmm...good question. i guess the same reason he put oil underground for someone to discover and fuel your car or maybe that rubbermaid tupperware that you have in your cabinet. by your username, i'm supposing your a woman, do you like diamonds....hmmm...where any rings....hmmm...i think they're not picked from diamond trees....they're mined "underground". Or what about gold, most gold...not all, but most....comes from underground. lots of amazing things god put underground!

@martinspeterbilt Why didn't God put it on top of the ground?
TheCindy1111 1 year ago
i think it's cool. god put coal in the ground for us to get it out and make power out of it. be thankful for what he's allowed us to accomplish.
