I adore this song, and Elton John sure has talent, but I don't really think he suits singing this song. . . I prefered the actors' versions.

Unfortunately, while the soundtrack for this WAS recorded in the studio, it was never released for sale. I was one of the earliest Lastat fans, so I remember first-hand the whole "album recorded, but then release is cancelled" outrage. A lot of people were, and are, very upset by it. Anyway, I saw some people wondering. So, I figured I'd let you all know that this can't in fact be bought anywhere. Yet.
