Short video on how to open the Macally iVoiceIII mic for the ipod. This can be bought at Wal*Mart for $25. Credit to Earl for his hack to make this work with the iPod Touch SIP-VoIP app and for letting me make this video, and to the touchmods team for their amazing work on the SIP-VoIP app for the iphone/ipod touch.

Shouts to the Touchmod IRC guys, they all do amazing work.

  • the mod allows you to use the ivoiceIII mic that is orininally for the regular ipod that is used for recording voice notes and memos to be used with the ipod touch as a mic that can be used with the new Sip-VoIP application that was just released.

  • Sorry about the lighting and video quality, I will definately work on that for my next video. Thanks for the comment. :) More videos coming soon. :)

  • I am currently using Voip plan from vontrump.com on my nokia set and its great!

  • u looks stupid in that hat fkin idiot.

  • what's up with the hat?

  • How about turning on the heater instead of buying things you don't need to destroy them later?

  • Dude, what's going on with your hair. It almost looks like a hat...!? You really need a haircut..! The mullet part almost looks like dog ears and your bangs are crazy looking...! Brush your hair back a bit...! ;)

If anyone replies in jest, I'm going to post your note for everyone to see. In case you have no idea what I'm talking about, I'm obviously joking but would be funny if it were his hair...!

  • probably because you don't know what he is saying

  • If you have the 2.0 or higher firmwares, you don't need to hack the iVoice to makes calls from 1st gen iPod touch. It works right out of the box.

  • this is true, thank god, i want it bad and that would have been one enormous pain in the ass
