I was doing what I call "Door Flips". It's where I would just flip the open and close at random intervals.

  • i am also interested in busses, but u are lucky because you actually get to mess around with busses and i dont. im jealous

  • Don't be jealous of me, man! I was lucky as hell. But I don't get to any more. It was a blast to mess around with, though.

  • We had a problem on a bus once, a few years ago, where the doors would open Wicked fast, and just sit there and "swing" on the hinges, but they wouldn't close for the driver (even after she hit the close button) until the bus started moving, and then, they would slam close, (sometimes by the wind, sometimes by themselves,) but open back up a little tiny bit... Was it a loss of air pressure maybe???

  • Did the bus have air brakes? My IC CE has air brakes and the door pressure isn't set above 40, I believe; but it does exactly what you're talking about. The door would open, like normal, then they would let their foot off of the brakes and hit close and it'd take an extra second or two. What I've always thought was the bus was trying to compensate for the brakes releasing so it'd wait for the door.

As for a correct, true answer: I have no idea.

  • @9sb19 the CE I ride its door is slow most of the time about shutting so it must not be set above 40

  • Well, even if it's at 40 or below, it can be slow. I've seen some set at 50 or so and they're still sluggish and slow. But all the pressure setter does is help hold the door closed tighter and has a slight smoothness to it. Not any faster.

  • Yeah, this year I've seen the most buses being towed. It was just one after the other. I'd say 2 a month, sometimes even more. We had bus 7, 2001 Blue Bird All American, locked down and not movable in the middle of the by-pass and then it got moved back to SHS and then stuck there, moved and towed to the shop. Over a 2 week span.

  • @9sb19

  • That's cool. Do you like them?
