  • @felix365clarinet I think you get that impression about the arnold sonatina because arnold was a trumpet player and his composing style is really deep influenced by this fact. Anyway I like that piece because it is fun and enjoyable.Good luck with your pieces... premier rapshody can be a real pain in the arse. :)

  • @adam246811 ok sure. um personally to me i dislike the arnold sonatina for some reason. it just sounds funny lol. don't ask me why. i just started learning the Paganini caprice no 24 for next year and am learning both the saint saens sonata and my teacher said i can start looking at the debussy premier rhapsody too (yay)

  • @felix365clarinet ohh yeh that bit's fine, i meant the arpeggio figures at the start of the 3rd mvt...but anyhow, it'll come! have you played the malcolm arnold sonatina? i got it a couple of days ago and it's awesome!! :P

  • If your talking about the last tiny bit at the end. don't think negative about it you will most likely screw it up think positive and it will come out no problem. just practice it slowly with variations with the rhythm

  • @felix365clarinet great :D yeah the poulenc is awesome - those little demi-semi bits in the 3rd mvt are kinda getting me though (a-d-f-g#-a etc)....

  • @adam246811 i think i heard math mention that. um u have ur hands full lol. well for solo performance exam i did mozart 4th church sonata, bernstein sonata mvt 1, hindemith sonata 4th mvt, harvey's i got rhythm and weber concerto 1 mvt 1. all fun pieces but were not really a challenge. i did all of poulenc last year which has to be my favourite piece ever. I'm going to do at uni next year brahms, debussy and maybe weber 2 concerto

  • @felix365clarinet oh cool i just know him from PGYO (were doing shostakovich 9 in 2 weeks and its really hard!). at the moment, im doing the poulenc sonata, and before that the saint-saens sonata/weber concertino/mozart concerto 2nd mvt. /finzi five bagatelles. how about you?

  • @adam246811 haha yeh hes a great friend of mine. mateusz or math as everyone calls him has been at vcass since year 9 i came in year 7 lol. what pieces are you doing on clarinet?

  • @felix365clarinet nah year 10 (im still a baby lol :P) so do you know matheusz (trumpet)?

  • @adam246811 yeh i love robert. he is amazing. his AT does help you even though it tends to feel very uncomfortable. haha thanks. yeh I've done 3 exams so far I've got 4 to go lol. are you in yr 12?
