  • I will miss the her so, we called them lizards out at Norton, I was a FE with the 14th mas 79-85

  • @58daoud

Did you know DC Presley? I was stationed in Da nang 67-68 with him. We crossed paths many times as I was an FE out of Charleston AFB and saw him in my travels

  • While I was flying an AR to a KC-10 at 170 knots on the Base Sim, just barely bumping the throttles on #2 & 3 engines, was too much. I always had better luck on adjusting trim prior to AR to where the stick had to be pushed forward to maintain L.F. then I would only throttle #3 engine to maintain airspeed. I right Seated with my AC in the Left seat. What memories, and fun I had.

  • When I retired from the Air Force I was living in Marietta GA, home of Lockheed. I wrote a letter to the company thanking them for putting together the best piece of machineary, the C-141, by the hands of man. I thanked them for all the times the C-141 brought me safely home over so many years.

They surprised me by publishing my letter of thanks on the Front Page of their company newspaper. In 50 years of aviation I have never been a crewmember on a better aircraft than the C-141

  • God, I love that sound. Nothin like four TF-33-P7's at full power. It's like the airplane sings to you, happy to get aloft. Do you remeber them f-ing reduced EPR takeoffs? What a waste that was, all that chart work to save a couple of gallons of JP4. We had many good hours together. Just over 3,000 as 1st Engineer at Mc Chord.

  • loved the sound of those TF-33`s, love working them and running them .... saw a show on military chanel filmed at D.M. in Arizona where they were being chopped up, almost made this old Jet Mach shed a tear, worked them for 8 years at Travis during the 80s and early 90s

  • C141 also poops AIREBOURNE!!!!!!!!!!!!! Gotta LOVE that bird....
