RAF Gunner Diaries - week 10: Better pass the tissues round... It's been over a year since Goody picked up a video camera and broadcast his first diary from Kandahar airbase in Afghanistan. Today he sends out his last, before leaving Scotland and joining the RAF Regiment presentation team at RAF Honington.

  • Im hoping to join the RAF as a police officer.. I have Standard Grades or GCSE's for English Schools...I am currently doing my Higher Levels.. and i have a year left of school.. so i will have a few Highers in Maths English and German, and possibly Modern Studies, Business management and Administration... Do you think there will be a chance for me in the RAF as police or anything higher. ?? i am currently 17, Male.

    Thanks.

  • @SCOAlba Hi, you need three Highers at grade A to C. You can find out more on the RAF POlice Officer page on RAF Careers, it's under Jobs, Find Jobs and then 'Force Protection'

  • i really want to join the RAF im 21 female with no gcse's do i stand a chance an how hard is it knowlege wise im a great learner but when it comes to exams im awful, any advice would be awsum thanks

  • @hopefullish Hi, unfortunately the only trade in the RAF you can join with no GSCEs is RAF Regiment Gunner, which is only available to men. I know this is disappointing, but there are lots of trades open to women with two GCSEs (in English and Maths) at grade G/6 or above, so if you can keep working at it, it is definitely worth trying to get those qualifications! You have to pass an apititude test to get in, as well as health and fitness tests - advice is provided on the RAF Careers site

  • @FmMan33 A levels only take 2 years mate, can do it in one year if you're hardcore lol

  • I have dreampt of being in the RAF for a long time now, i didnt make the grade for Intel, but i am waiting for another stab. I think any area in the RAF and other forces are the real people of the UK. Real people, real heros to our ungrateful country. Wish to be wearing the uniform and doing my bit ASAP.. Keep up the good work all of you!

  • @FmMan33 apply for college ?

  • I'm 19, am soon taking my NPPL (national private pilot's license) but don't have A-Levels... I really want to join as a pilot. Anyone know of a way to take my A-Levels within the next 5 years? (maximum joining age is 25, I'm 20 in July) =[

  • Thanks for the videos, they have made me very interested in joining the RAF regiment after college. I was wondering how long it would be from application to joining? thanks.
