@sstiltss I don't ask that all entertainment or art be as intelligent as THE WIRE, nor would I necessarily want it to be. Different approaches work with different materials, and there's nothing wrong with "straight entertainment" per se (I love martial arts movies, for goodness sake). I do ask, however, that it does insult my intelligence and more importantly that "it's just entertainment" isn't passed off as an excuse for the most neanderthal garbage imaginable.
