An absolutely magical short by Guilherme Marcondes of Brazil, based on a William Blake poem.
Tyger blends puppetry, illustration, photography and CGI. Dreamy, mesmerizing, brilliant. Wow.

  • Very, very cool! Nice work. Quite the undertaking!

  • Não me canso de ver este vídeo, há anos. Excelente, metafórico, confuso e enigmático, como é o poema. E paulistano... Parabéns!

  • I wish Blake could only see this magnificent interpretaion!

People are wiped out instead of other animals.

  • We just watched this in drawing class today. I love it. I hope to be able to create things this amazing someday.

  • Tyger! Tyger! burning bright, In the forests of the night, What immortal hand or eye Could frame thy fearful symmetry? In what distant deeps or skies Burnt the fire in thine eyes? On what wings dare he aspire? What the hand dare seize the fire? And what shoulder, and what art? Could twist the sinews of thy heart? And when thy heart began to beat, What dread hand, and what dread feet?
  • What the hammer? What the chain? In what furnace was thy brain? What the anvil? What dread grasp Dare its deadly terrors clasp? When the stars threw down their spears, And watered heaven with their tears, Did he smile his work to see? Did he who made the Lamb, make thee? Tyger! Tyger! burning bright, In the forests of the night, What immortal hand or eye Dare frame thy fearful symmetry?
  • So beautiful! The puppet and the puppeteering was absolutely stunning! Jolly good show! <3

  • Fantastic short film.

There is a neat little book titled "The Unholy City" - its a SF / social satire / love story about a futuristic city (sort of an Emerald City) that is menaced by an immense wild cat as a form of divine punishment. Very much in the style of Terry Gilliam. Anyway, its a good pulp novel from 1937 (!) that you can find on Amazon.

For obvious reasons this movie reminded me of that book.

  • Artful and interesting cool
