Born into a middle-class family, Yeoh Chen Chow worked hard academically in order to receive a scholarship from JPA. Despite an engineering degree from a reputable university from the United States, Chen Chow gave up a well-paying job for JobStreet, believing that he can make a difference in peoples lives, especially among young graduates.
While growing up, Chen Chow had to overcome language barriers, especially English. Despite being picked out as one of the worst out of a class of 3,000 in English, Chen Chow became one of the top students in his university. Together with a few fellow JPA scholars, he helped built a community-based, non-profit platform called ReCom, which allows people to get more information on how to get JPA scholarships. He believes in the culture of sharing information and believes in giving back to others to pursue their education.
His dream Malaysia is to see more youth empowerment. He believes that the youth of today has the ability and passion to make a different and improved Malaysia. Chen Chow is currently involved in a few non-profit projects through REcom to inspire more young people to dream bigger.
