@cooke86 [cont.] that he's mediocre obviously don't know what they are talking about & sure as hell haven't heard enough to say so.

@cooke86 [cont.] probably better off getting back with suicidal tendencies, atleast with them his work was more significant.jason is anything but mediocre,if he was they would've never brought him in to take cliff's place.if u can't take that into consideration, then i suggest u listen to his work with flotsam & jetsam, voivod,or whocares.jason is a damn good musician, not just that but artist.he is all about the music & really gets a feel for it,evident by his stage presence.anyone saying [cont.]

@cooke86 funny how people consider the truth hating lol.u are clearly out of ur mind calling albums like AJFA or the black album mediocre.justice was a technical masterpiece & the black album is still there most successful record to date.rob may be a more technical player, but he still doesn't come close to cliff or jason.he has yet to even write a respectable bass riff, jason did that & metallica hardly let him do anything.not to mention he's quite dull live, looks so outta place.he's [cont.]

@MrSFblack your out of your mid bro besides the albums he was on with his mediocre bass playing, live all he did was cover cliffs riffs i could care less if he was energetic on stage. James Hetfield said it himself that Rob contributed more on death magnetic then Jason newkid. the black album sucked Jason could sing your probably a hater anyways so whatever!
-
@cooke86 that was not his only contribution to metallica, just to tracks like blackened or where the wild things are.jason may not have contributed as much as he would've liked to in metallica, but what do u expect from a band that treated him like shit & gave him limited creative freedom.after having to put up with that for 14 years,i don't see how anybody could wonder why he decided to quit the band.jason was a big part of metallica,he did more in one show than rob in 8 years with the band.

There all great bass players!

@turricaned thank you for a mature response to my comment and i agree with you 100% thnx again 'Tallica kikcs ass!

@cooke86 I think James himself would admit that the way they treated Jason for most of his tenure in the band would not make him confident in presenting ideas. By the time they auditioned Rob they had worked out a lot of interpersonal shit, James in particular having quit drinking and taking a long, hard look at his attitude at the same time. Rob may have more technical chops than Jason, imo Jason understood the big picture better. Cliff (RIP) was an all-rounder with an eye on both

@HolyDeth your out of your Goddamn mind. The interviews done with James Hetfield for Death Magnetic he states that Rob has contributed more on one record one frickin record the Jason did in 14 years! Jason was a good back up vocalist but an average bass player!
-
errrrrr here's the only thing i contributed to Metallica in 14 years...
No way man, MFOM is a great track! They should play it live!
