  • was mel ill by the time this video was made?? so sad she never realised her potential

  • @garyhanton Mel was first treated for cancer (in her liver) in December 1985, which was before they released any music. This video was filmed in September 1986, and was the first Mel & Kim release. Mel's cancer returned in June 1987, in her spine. After several months of treatment, she seemed to be recovering by late 1988 - there's a TV:AM interview from then that I've posted where she seems to be well. Kim has said she knew Mel wasn't going to get better "two years in" - so maybe mid 1989.

  • @MelAndKimVideos Thanks for your info on this matter, this was a bloody shame of course, yes i also was a geat fan of these girls, does anyone know how her sister got on after this, i take it that Kim was her sister.

  • @siverfish Yes, Mel & Kim were sisters. Kim had some solo success as Kim Appleby in the early 90s.

  • Wow!!! I can't believe I found this. I remember this as kid, and haven't heard this since. I am really sad to find out that Mel died so young. I love the bridge at 1:49. That's when sh*t gets urgent.

  • @virgulios except for skin cancer and early stage breast cancer I've never knew anyone who lived for long after being diagnosed with cancer.
