OhioHealth representative gives information on what DOs actually are. DOs are doctors of osteopathic medicine. They are fully trained physicians that are licensed in all fifty states for all types of medicine. Doctors at Southwest Health Center talk about the requirements to become a DO. The requirements are the same as other doctors but added to 4 years undergrad, 3 years med school, and 3-7 years in a residency program. The difference however is that along the way they receive an additional 200 hours in osteopathic manipulative training. This is a hands on approach to diagnostic information.
