If you wanna justify yourself by whining around about how everybody else doesn't revere/respect their culture/traditions and its sacredness. Then why are you participating in with those people anyway? Why are you not trying to correct those people? Or better yet trying to help preserve Apache culture/traditions by, um idk, not stooping down to other peoples disrespectful & coveting behaviour?

i was there the boys had sticks and where hitting the cow hide this is white mountain style where the crown dancers are painted black they only come out at night Bert Hinton is the medican man we the people have not lost our ways still going strong

lovegame29's grandpa is absolutely correct. It is a coming of age ceremony. It might be creepy or gross to small-minded individuals, but in all actuality, sex is a part of life. It is how we reproduce and continue the human race. We are losing our traditions because of people with that same negativity and disrespect. I had a sunrise dance and I am very proud of it. :)

My grandpa is was a medicine man and he told me the truth before he died, He said a sunrise dance is symbolism that a girl is now a Lady and Can Have Sex.... I MEAN COME ON, THE GIRLS ARE HAVING SEX WITH THE SUN WHILE THERE ON THEIR KNEES GOING UP AND DOWN..KINDA CREEPY! - MOST GIRLS WHO HAVE THIS CEREMONY END UP BEING NAUGHTY AND PREGNANT, SAD ENOUGH NO ONE KNOWS THE REAL TRUTH! In my opinion Church is wicked! (no offense to anyone who goes to church)

I will always believe in my Hopi ways cause were not even close to losing our traditional ways and ancient ceremonies.

Reading all these comments make me laugh. First of all who cares about our Apache Tradition, its going to soon be gone soon because the Sacredness is no longer there! Just enjoy this video while you can! The world is changing and soon its going to end, so why not just turn from ur wicked ways and go back to Church?
