This brief video focuses on the unique Polar OwnZone feature, an exclusive technology found only in Polar heart rate monitors.
Full transcript: Hi. This is Chris from Polar USA Customer Support. Today I'm going to introduce you one of several unique features that are exclusive to Polar training computers, one that determines your physical state at the moment and helps guide your intensity level to get you in the proper zone so you can efficiently reach your training targets. It's another Polar technology that takes the guesswork out of your training session, and it's known as Polar OwnZone. This feature is available in several units across Polar's lineup, including the FT60 and FT80. What the OwnZone is designed to do is allow you to closely listen to your body. It gets to know you personally and help you plan your workout based on varying conditions. Here's the FT60 to show you how it works. To get started, hit the OK button in the main menu and scroll down to start with OwnZone. Depending on a number of factors from the day and time, to physical and mental state and environment at the moment, OwnZone determines before you work out if you might be stressed or tired and whether you may not have fully recovered from your last training session. It's taking a reading of your heart rate and calculating your ideal training zone, based on current information and historical data. It then develops a custom workout range for you to follow. An OwnZone light range will feel fairly easy for most people and will help with weight control and improving endurance and general fitness. A moderate zone increases intensity for those who train regularly to focus in on cardio fitness. OwnZone Hard takes you to the highest level corresponding to 80-90 percent of your maximum heart rate and should be used occasionally by fit individuals. In many ways, having Polar OwnZone is like having a personal coach on your wrist. It helps you know yourself better and guide you to your right intensity level at the moment. Thanks for taking a moment to get to know Polar OwnZone. This capability is standard on many products including the FT60 and FT80, which can be find online, in health clubs and retail stores in your area. Hey, wearing my FT80 right now. To train with ownzone, do you have to take the fitness test or relaxation test first before doing it? I've done both once, but that was over a month ago (worked out 3 times since). Please any help would be great.
