Video caught at Dassault Aviation website ( http://www.dassault-aviation.com ) showing incredible high altitude spin tests with one of the Mirage III prototypes.
Includes pre-flight, takeoff and landing footages. It also teaches how to proceed during a recover from a spin (all instructions in French). The chase plane is a Dassault Mystère IV.

  • did you see that instrument panel shaking?

  • Of course... It's amazing because the aircraft is flying at such a high altitude that both stall and supersonic speeds are very close to each other.

  • ya i know that, not everyone that posts a comment here is a complete idiot when it comes to aviation

  • best video on youtube

  • @Firefox9895 "fin"...means "the end" in french

    like "final" if you want.

  • Wtf!? What Finland is doing on the ending!?

  • thanks!

  • Me neither. I don't think the pilots of the wrecked Migs all over Sinai, Egypt, Syria and Iraq would agree either.

  • greetings all!

love the video, but can someone confirm. the panel shown between 4:37 and 5:10, was this some sort of aircraft to ground telemetry of the cockpit instruments? unless I'm wrong, there is a VSI and AoA indicator there (based of expected readings during a stall) but does anyone know? what data is being displayed here?

  • Mirage III: One of the best at his time!

I flew one(once) in the 90's and was very surprised of the flight qualities!!!

  • Don't agree with that.
