just wondering, is this really an octahedron? I've always thought an octahedron looks like 2 square-based pyramids glued together by the bases...

but that aside, this is an awesome model, I noticed that some parts of it is a little like the steps for a Kawasaki Rose...

@fabricofspacetime It's a stellated octahedron. This means it's the shape you get if you place a pyramid on each of the eight faces of an octahedron.

sara U ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! sis i made it in just five minutes after trying it once its rocking it may be difficult for people who are new to origami and are watching this just because it looks cool people this is the best tutorial u can get on making it with a single paper almost all other videos have it with some no. of papers

I've always done this by adding extra diagonals to the waterbomb. Interesting way of doing it!

nice video. It's quite fun to make when your on a train. 1. It helps you pass time and 2. you can use a train timetable

there's actually a quite easier way to make this. you collapse it into a different shape, blow into one of the ends, and it just pops up! but i do like this version as well!
