Mermaid Melissa's motto is, "Let's save the oceans before all creatures become mythical" & is involved with several charities and events to raise awareness for the ocean and even had the opportunity to work for the gulf coast clean up project.
Melissa is the Winner of Acting Outlaws celebrity environmental spokes person for the contest "What are you doing?" actiingoutlaws.org organization (run by actresses, Katee Sackhoff & Tricia Helfer) to help with the gulf oil spill clean up and preservation of our oceans.
Melissa is known as "A Real Life Mermaid" Featured in the 2011 issue 14 of FAE Magazine, & Mermaid columnist for the new worldwide publication of "Mermaids & Mythology" Magazine.
Her background includes being an animal trainer for Animal Planets: The Animal Actors show based out of Universal Studios Florida, training animals for movies with Birds & animals Unlimited, being a professional free diver, schooling for Marine Biology, Scuba Certified, Sea World Orlando killer whale and dolphin trainer, underwater stunt woman for shows such as Forensic Files, savethemanatees.org animal ambassador, 4:18 breath hold, and a summer project creating original underwater routines for Ripley's Aquarium of Myrtle Beach South Carolina as Lead Mermaid performer 7 days a week 4 shows a day as "Mermaid Melissa."
