Sorry your son was a criminal with illegal weapons and the intent to hurt police officers and innocent bystanders. If you had raised him to earn his own way instead of preying on the weak, he might be alive today.

Clearly it's unreasonable to have expected the cops to have shot him in the legs, since 'shooting to wound' is not an option in such a tense confrontation. But bear in mind that this woman is the guy's mother. She can never understand any reason to kill her son, because no mother ever could.
