  • ta for your vid. I'm lining a 15ft long wall tomorrow......and I ain't looking forward to it! Thank God the walls arn't high. Think my ol' man will be very much hanging on to that concertina'd paper for me. Bet it ends up like a bloody scene from a Laurel & Hardy film!!!!

Oh! how I wish I was one of those women who had shut her trap yrs ago, and said she couldn't do anything remotely DIY - 5 houses later...its no fun!!

    Wish us luck!

    Like your 'ladder' btw.

  • @1960gal wel "good luck" You could start by hanging the first piece along the skirting board you might find it easier that way, or even hanging it vertically if your just going to paint it after!

I usually do this on staircases. laurel n hardy lol.

  • very good video, the only one like it i could find thank you :)

a close up on the finished product would be nice tho

    thanx

  • Thought it said fast

  • @OrtonFan4eva ...nah scissors are much better, especially with lining paper as it rips easy, plus you can cut into the waste easier and give yourself a few millimeters to take round the corner..Instone is bang on here.

  • @1960gal...bad practice IMO...if the skirting runs out your paper will run out..also theres more of a chance of slight overlaps because gravity is working against you..and if you work from the bottom up theres more chance of damaging the work you have just done. Instone...wheres your horizontal start line mate?

  • i wpuldnt dare cut it free-hand id have to use a straight edge and a stanley knife

  • @instone09 Emm, never thought of doing from the skirting up, but I'm defo going to try that.

Have hung vertically before when just painting over, but know it'll look so much better hung hori as I'll be w'papering over.

if our marriage survives this job, I'll report back. Practicing my best swear words in preparation!!!!!
