Bluecollar, the pattern at Lake Hood requires a left turn in that direction. If he would've turned into the wind he'd fly into the Anchorage International Airport's pattern where the big jets take off and land.

Yeah. Especially when your home airport has 500KV that you miss by about 20 feet everytime you land.

Someone should remind BLUECOLLARPILOT that an airplane will fly just as well upwind as it will downwind and that the ability to maintain lift in any airplane is dependant solely on relative airflow. The allowance you make for decreasing performance windshear would be identical regardless of the direction you turn. Maybe a little more aerodynamics and theory of flight 101 for BLUECOLLARPILOT
