The ending of John Carpenter's 'Starman' (1984), with one of the most beautiful final shots in cinema.
From filmsite.org: "Starman [Jeff Bridges]'s farewell to hostage-turned-lover Jenny [Karen Allen] in the middle of the Arizona crater where he was met by an alien search party: (Jenny: "I'm never going to see you again, am I?"), and the final lingering shot of Jenny's face as Starman's ship departed to return home to the sounds of Jack Nitzsche's swelling score ['Starman Leaves (End Title)'], in John Carpenter's romantic, tearjerking science fiction film".

I love how this ending scene doesnt show you a big Michael Bay-esque special FX shot of the alien ship. Just the expression of love and wonder in Jenny's face.

the effects whilst simple and cheesy to a spawn of the "twilight" generation. seem hauntingly real and intimite....
something is always lost in society from decade to decade, it makes me wonder what a gen-Xer like me missed out on.....
all you "millenials" can go GET FUCKED, even harder, as far as im concerned.
