Fight for justice for Afghan rape victim- 22 Nov 08

Rape victims in Afghanistan can find themselves excluded from their communities or even killed for bringing shame on their family.

Al Jazeera's David Chater reports on a case where the family of a teenage girl, who was gang raped, is fighting to bring her attackers to justice.

Anywhere in the world where Islamic Law is the law of the land, women will ALWAYS be cattle, property that can be slaughtered and sold as meat, or simply thrown into the garbage can. This view of women, the complete domination of women is the very core of Islam. Western ways absolutely terrify Muslim men because it would destroy their Patriarch dominated family structure. North of Afghanistan = under control of the Northern Alliance, which is wholeheartedly supported by the US. Majority of the Afghan government are ex-Northern Alliance commanders/generals etc. These are the same dogs who raped and pillaged Afghanistan before the Taliban took control. These same dogs are the 'Warlords' who rape young boys, who deal drugs, who sell girls to Russian prostitution rinks.

And yet the Taliban get ALL the blame on mainstream media.....
