A train, aka the "rock train", running west out of Portsmouth, VA. This is a regular CSX train carrying rocks and other materials from near the Portsmouth International Terminal via the old Norfolk-Portsmouth Beltline. Video taken from behind the Lowe's store at Victory Crossing ( formerly Tower Mall). Note: First video using my new iPhone 4.

  • By the way thanks for this vid :-)

  • Too bad Rail Service is dwindling nationwide much less in the Hampton Roads Area. Hard to believe that the last passenger train to leave out of Norfolk was in the late sixties. It's sad to see the once bustling rail yards along the N&P Belt Line to be defunct. Luckly the new APM terminal has brought back some of the railroading industry back to town. If the people of Hampton Road will only vote yes on the passenger service proposed for Bowers Hill and Norfolk.

  • Just to let you know, this is not the rock train. This is the Perdue train. The covered hoppers had grain in them and the tanks had vegetable oil in them
