We picked up issue #2 of The Twelve, a great series that we highly recommend. The Twelve follows Golden Age heroes that wake up in the present day after being frozen for 60 years.

We really enjoyed the hero-packed issue #12 of JSA. Lots of heroes, lots of stories and they're recruiting even more in this issue.

Fables issue #69 is more of a great series that we really like. The artwork is top-notch and the story is huge.

Then in our speed round we cover Adolescent Radioactive Black Belt Hamsters #1, The Trials of Shazam #11, Jack of Fables #19, Proof #4, and Action Comics #861.

Today in our mailbag, we talk about how comic books tackle social issues like underage drinking and gambling. Thanks to the great question from JLTiberi on the Pulp Secret forums.

  • One of these day, Pete is going to loose it in the studio! Alex and Justin tease him constantly (which I find funny too and spices it up!). The dynamics are one of the reasons I watch..aside from comics of course. I watch Comic Book Club too and that is even more hilarious and even better 'cause its improvised and much longer.

  • I think JSA is one of the best team themed magazines on the market right now. JLA is suffering, and Avengers is missing something right now.

  • The Twelve was very interesting comic book. What it's like for the heroes who fought in World War II to wake up in the world where superheroes fought each other, and their war buddy Captain America was accused of treason and shot? No united world, no colonies on Yupiter, space travels controlled by superheroes, millions dying from hunger and diseases - and Fantastic Four uses their incredible technoligies to clone Thor or to build a prison in Negative Zone. Who wants this future? Not me.

  • type 420 if ur high!

    I miss you! Zt

  • Sonia Sato :)

  • Who is the hero at 2:51?

  • Hey guys, I was wondering what you're most looking forward to or which you think will be better out of DC's Final Crisis or Marvel's Secret Invasion?

  • Things I remember because I'm a nerd: Generation X tackled under-age drinking. Husk was kind of a lush for a few issues there.

  • leave Pete alone! he gices and gives! alex and justin makes me sick!

  • Thanks : )
