I used to see him perform in the early 80s at the varsity theatre in palo alto, ca. till this day i never forgot his music. it was a small venue on the mezzanine level. i don't think it accommodated more than 30 people. one could look out through a small window onto the patio below. he used to play the chapman stick with extra strings. he used to bang on it like a drum. he and his music live on.

@rlutge that to me is the thing about michael that I noticed that I really dig... he understands the difference between a recording and a live set... he lets loose and doesn't worry about playing too perfect live, (even though his imperfect is light years past the rest of us LOL)
