@Kittenwithawhip91 I don't think it is a comparison. I think it is supposed to be reaching out to the next generation. Nice that Gen Y admires the punk era. Still it is clear that punk doesn't belong to Fergie. She tries too hard, and she comes across as an impostor. Fergie is good at her own stuff, that's all.

You are absolutely spot on with this comment. Deborah Harry is (in my opinion) the sexiest and most beautiful woman ever, but she does have a vulnerable quality that makes her all the more captivating. The awe she inspires is not only because of her trailblazing career. She could be nobody and still have the whole place on its feet because of her dazzling presence and totally natural charisma. I can't think of anyone else in her field who has come close in that respect.
