A Texas billionaire says he has a plan to reduce America's addiction to oil. T. Boone Pickens, who made his fortune in the oil business, says the best way to eliminate the nation's dependence on foreign oil is to replace the scarce resource with something the United States has plenty of - wind. VOA's Mil Arcega has more.

  • Texas leads the United States in wind power production. In order for the United States to reduce its dependence on fossil fuels, wind energy is being harnessed in various industry verticals. The US is also working on its vast electric gird. Transformer company, Pacific Crest Transformers has been partnering with the wind energy sector since 1985. It offers various products and solutions for the wind energy market.

  • Fantastic. The same man that many hate today will bring the US out of the trap. Many will applaud the man, who will most likely be seen as a hero.

Natural Gas is the quickest, and cheapest, solution for vehicles. Really simple and cheap to convert a vehicle. My vehicle in a country classified as "3rd world" ran on Gasoline, Etanol, and Gas (I converted).

The wind will fill the gap left by Natural Gas in our homes. If anyone has better solutions or ideas, please come forward.

    Cheers!

  • Here is an American who knows what he is talking about and putting his money where his mouth is.

  • Wind is a far off solution.
