Sorry to hear about your anthias.. I had this happen with a clown, twice. :( I just reached in there with my hand and got it into a corner and scooped it into the display tank. Either that or just try and net it out.
Your vlamingi is probably fine until about 6" or so. You could look into yellow tangs or atlantic blue tangs. Blues get a little large, but yellows stay fairly small. You could also look into fairy (no pun intended) wrasses. I picked mine up a couple weeks ago and I love him!
