@TheChaiTeaLatte I too write and was faced with the same dilemma for on-the-fly moments of inspiration. I finally purchased the iPad 2 and you cannot ask for a lighter portable computer. The old-school keyboard is a plus however, iPad's virtual keyboard is not bad once you acclimate yourself with its functionality. You can always purchase Apples wireless keyboard, which is bluetooth compatible, to provide that old-school feel when typing on the iPad. The choice is yours! Good luck!

@feonua hi, i've been thinking very hard whether to get iPad or macbook air for writing on the go. I'm not a professional writer, though might do this more seriously in the near future. I bring my macbook everywhere and it proved to be some task. I want something lighter and portable. what I don't like about iPad is the touch-screen keyboard. I prefer old-school keyboard that doesn't consume half of the screen. but macbook air doesn't have the 3G service - not as convenient as iPad. suggestions?
