Heyy :)
So after a long absence of art from me, Ive come back with a vengence :L

This video is my latest tutorial on how to draw an equine lineart using a tablet and PhotoShop Elements 7, though tbh you can use this method for whatever you prefer, though it'll obviously not matter about brush sizes or whatnot if youre using the old pad and pencil! :)

Have fun and remember to link me to your versions if you do them!!!
Hope you found this helpful, check out my other videos on youtube or my gallery on DeviantART; http://shadowdachampionpony.deviantart.com/?loggedin=1

  • What was the brush size you used for the line sketch and the line art? (I think I've been doing it all wrong) x_x

  • @poppey40 to be honest I dont really look at the pixel size, its more of a judgement based on how it looks on your canvas size :) I like mine to be small enough to not be considered "thick" as such, but big enough so when you zoom in it dosent look pixellated and nasty :) Its pretty much whatever works best for you - some people work better with thick linearts and sketches whereas some work best with none at all. Dont worry, you wont be doing it "wrong", its just your style :)x

  • loves it ;D very helpful :)

btw what program did you use to record it? because ive been wanted to do speedpaints for a while now, but cant find a good program D:

  • @irisXebenos Naww thankyou! I used Camstudio... just type it in, free and good :)

  • @mixandmatch99 You mean how do you hide the blue lines? There should be a little icon next to the layer (if you're using this program) that looks like an eye. Clicking it will toggle the visibility of it. Click it if you don't want the lines.

  • @SuperNeverable how do you hide it?

  • @TinTen97 To make the blue lines, make a new layer above "Background" which should be locked. Make your sketch here, and then make another layer above this one. Go over the blue lines, and to make them disappear, click the hide button on the "Layer 1" layer (which should be your blue lines). If you are satisfied with your piece, you can delete the blue lines by right-clicking and doing so. Hope it helped ^^

  • What's the song? o:

Awesome job by the way! Very helpful!

-whips out tablet, works on Photoshop.-

  • how do you get the blue lineart to desapear and come back? hehe im a new beginner on Photoshop ^^

  • I think I'm gonna stick with Sai because I'm to freaking lazy lol XD But since my computer is down I have no choice but to do my line art in photoshop elements

  • your just like me when i draw XD dont like this..dont like that…HATE THAT XD

  • @shadowdachampionpony Thank you. My lines always seem too thick and look bad because they hardly vary in width.
