I greatly disagree with Newt that we are not winning in Iraq! Iraq's Gov't has made great strides since the Surge and their Defense forces have been absolutely Kick Ass in dealing with the Insurgents! Afghanistan is far more complex, their Gov't has been very supportive but have not garnered the support of their "wishy washy" citizens or the proactive fighting spirit of their forces like we have seen in Iraq! Newt is right on the mark about the enemy we are facing though! 9/11 = wake up call!

Most Iraqi citizens do realize that a more democratic approach is in their best interest. The next major hurdle for Iraq will be dealing with the Sadrists. While most of the sects have come to an agreement that is beneficial for all, it is the Sadrists that will be vying for control once the U.S. has handed over all control to the Iraqi military.Winning hearts & minds is a long road, but I think Iraq has much to be optimistic about!

Once a few million westerners have been slaughtered by muslims in some major terrorist (perhaps nuclear) attacks, then I think people will finally wake up and do something about Islamic Imperialism.

Assuming that by then muslims haven't already become majority populations in our countries working to fully Islamify our states as they've done to Sudan and Lebanon.

The ignorance out there on Islam is unbelievable and mind-boggling. We could all avoid a lot of misery if we dealt with it right now
