Can't mention Gorbachev without mentioning the leader of anti-communism revolution "Ronald Reagan".

Gorbachev and Ronald Reagan should be ranked close to each other.
Reagan was the activist (the Mandela) against communism; Gorbachev was the one who legally ended it (the Declerk).

Winston Churchill should be higher on the list. #2 only behind FDR.
If FDR and Churchill's enemies had won, this list would be completely different!

#49: Again, I don't think any living people should make the list. However, I can't deny the impact Gorbachev has had in the fall of the USSR. B

My thoughts and "grades" of each person in this part:
#54: Expanded the world's knowledge of cultures and ways of life with his travels. A+
#53: Expanded the knowledge of radioactivity; discovered at least 2 new elements and won the Nobel Prize--and all this done by a woman! A
#52: Just the man the UK needed to lead them through WW2. A+
#51: His work led to the eradication of one of the deadliest diseases on the planet. A+
