Lots of snow again (and a few more kilos after X-mas), so it was time for another trip with ...
my old pair of telemark (backcountry) skis that I "dug out" in my father's basement again together with my old Alpine boots and gaiters; after not using the whole equipment for almost 20 years, it's still good!
I also "upgraded" my old, cracked fire plate. Now it's a bigger steel bowl which easily takes in the kettle without extinguishing the fire below.

  • @nedeljkomostar The rucksack is the "Rusa 32" from "CerroTorre", a quite unknown brand (at least here). I found it in a catalogue once, but it's no longer on sale there. Another very similar pack is the "Deuter Trans Alpine 30", which has won many prizes and is still available on the market. - Hope this helps, Tim

  • Beautiful! I really like that ruksak, who manufactured it?

  • @drumgodtim ... uh, you make me blush :o) thanks so much!

Yep, better stay above water this time of year. I don't hunt, but if we had something like an "open season" here, I might think about it. There's lots of wild boars around here, but getting a hunting license requires quite an amount of time, money and bureaucracy here ...

    See you around soon!

  • @steintanz I do not have the opportunity to cross half frozen streams with snow covered banks here in El Paso, but i can appreciate the feeling that "crisp" water would send through one's body if you were unfortunate enough to take an unexpected bath. hahahaha Are you a hunter? Boars are good game in Texas. We have open season on them as they are considered ferrel and destructive. Look forward to my first boar hunt. You ids are excellent and I enjoy them immensely!!! :)
