  • The guy got a bit lucky with getting offered an early rescue of the princess. He got the Saxon lord's castle which had 20 soldiers in it. Normally you dont get the chance to rescue the lady since it was randonly generated.

  • I would say it was bad luck, that i lost so many soldiers in the first attack. This kind of walkthrough in 6 turns is even possible without reinforcements :)

  • I played this in the early 90's on my c64, but it was a copied version, and if you rescued the princess the game would freeze up. So whenever that option came up I had to decline and my leadership score would weaken.

I waited over 15 years to see Katharine....

  • and what about Rosalind, Anne or Rebecca? ;)

  • Man, does this bring back memories. I used to play this game non-stop through 7 yrs - 10 yrs old. I loved the jousting....great game. As soon as I saw the start up screen, huge smile came across my face.

  • i played this game a million times and NEVER EVER tried to click on sherwood forest :D what actually happens if robin agrees to help?? i don't get a clue from the message on the screen.

  • one of the greatest games ever.

    EVER! :D

  • I remember everyone was amazed at how advanced this game was, lol.

  • Cinemaware really pushed the C64 to its limits back then.

  • God I love the internet :). I got my C64 in 1984 at the age of 14 and LOVED it. The graphics were amazing for the time, but even the text-based games like Zork were addictive. I recently recalled one of my FAVORITE C64 games, M.U.L.E.. I was amazed to find the original available for download and I've been having a blast playing it again :). Tonight I finally remembered and discovered another one of my ALL-time favorite C64 games, D.O.T.C., and I can't wait to download it and play it again!!

  • Great game, best on C64! I was soooo irritated when I was planning out strategy and then the da-da-da tournament music came on. I'd throw my hands in the air, sigh, and resign myself to riding ponies for a couple of minutes. Then they'd let me back to the map and I'd forgotten what I was planning.

  • lol, this error message is really.. yes.. what is it?

  • @xwonderer

  • I actually preferred the C64 version to the Amiga version.

  • Good old days !! This game was my favorite !! Graphics & sound where awesome !!
