Many seat patterns require that a listing be sewn to the foam in the insert while not creating a visible sewn line on the surface of the seat. To create this effect, the listing must be sewn to the foam, then pleats sewn into both the foam and surface material at once. This process shows up usually on later models like Malibus or Grand Nationals, but is necessary on some earlier models as well.
